Maple Bars |
I got this recipe one year when we went to a pancake breakfast and to learn about maple sugaring. They were serving these bars and giving out the recipe. They have been a favorite ever since!
Maple Bars
Ingredients
1 cup maple syrup
1 cup old-fashioned or quick-cooking oats
1 cup chopped nuts (any kind, I used pecans)
2/3 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Directions
1. Heat oven to 350°. Grease an 8x8” square baking pan.
2. Mix all ingredients thoroughly. Spread in prepared pan. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool in pan. Cut into 16 bars.
