Homemade Grilled & Ready Chicken Breast Strips |
You know those ready-to-eat chicken breast strips that are sold in the dairy or meat section? They sure are handy for making a quick meal…but they are expensive and who knows what is in them!
This recipe is the equivalent of 2 packages of the original flavor (they are usually 6-8 oz. each).
Use them in soups, salads, pasta dishes, or any recipe when you need a quick easy dinner! (You can broil them if grilling not an option for you also).
Check out the southwest version here for easy nachos or tacos, too!
Homemade Grilled & Ready Chicken Breast Strips
Ingredients
2 lbs. boneless skinless chicken breasts
2 Tablespoons vinegar
2 Tablespoons water
2 Tablespoons oil (such as vegetable or canola)
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon paprika
¼ teaspoon black pepper
Directions
1. Slice or pound chicken breast to a thickness no larger than ½ inch. This will ensure quick and even cooking.
2. Combine remaining ingredients in a large bowl. Add chicken; cover and refrigerate for 1 hour (or overnight).
3. Grill over medium-high for 5 minutes on each side (or broil 4-6 inches from heat for 5 minutes on each side). Allow to fully cool. Cut into ¼ inch strips.
4. Divide strips evenly among 2 freezer bags. Refrigerate for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 6 months.

This is such a great idea! I cook so many things with strips of chicken, and this would really speed up that process. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kelsey! If you've ever bought them in the store I think you will find these to be spot on!
