Chicken Bow Tie Skillet Dinner |
Years ago, Lawry’s had a boxed product called “Sizzle & Stir,” and my kids loved the Chicken & Bow Tie variety…and then they stopped making it.
My kids were crushed, so I made my own homemade version to recreate it (thus began my journey into making homemade versions of food!). It’s been a big hit ever since!
It’s also super quick and easy, ready to eat in 20 minutes!
Ingredients:
1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into 1-inch cubes
2 Tablespoons cooking oil (such as vegetable or canola)
½ Tablespoon seasoned salt
3 cups chicken broth or stock
2 Tablespoons cornstarch
2 Tablespoons butter
1 clove garlic, minced
2 cups bow tie pasta
1 cup ready-to-eat baby carrots (or you can just use 1 cup sliced carrots)
Directions:
1. Heat cooking oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken. Sprinkle chicken with seasoned salt; stir and cook until lightly browned.
2. Add chicken broth, cornstarch, butter and garlic to pan. Stir until butter is melted. Add pasta; bring to a boil. Lower heat, cover and simmer for 7 minutes.
3. Add carrots. Return to a boil. Lower, cover and simmer for 3-5 minutes, or until carrots are tender.
