Homemade Bisquick |
So easy to use...that's why it's been a pantry staple for so long! Making your own is just as easy, and does away with the chemicals and preservatives!
Ingredients:
10 cups flour
1/3 cup baking powder
4 teaspoons salt
2 cups coconut oil (or you can use shortening)
Directions:
1. Stir together flour, baking powder and salt in a large bowl.
2. Cut in shortening with a fork (or you can use a pastry blender or 2 knives) until mixture resembles fine crumbs.
3. Place in an air-tight container.
This will stay good for 6 weeks in a pantry or cupboard, or for 6 months in the freezer.
